Everyone talks about the importance of finding their “WHY”. But what if you’re looking for your WHY in the wrong place?
Most people think their WHY is some grand mission statement… some kind of noble purpose they have to discover through a great deal of soul-searching and vision boards.
But what if your WHY isn’t hiding, waiting for some mountaintop revelation?
What if it’s already showing up every single day, in the way you find energy?
If you think about it, you already know the difference between work that charges your batteries and work that drains you dry.
You’ve had those days where you worked non-stop but still somehow felt energized at the end. And you’ve had other days where you checked off your entire to-do list but still felt completely empty.
You know what it feels like to be so absorbed in what you’re doing that time just disappears. And you also know what it feels like to watch the clock tick, willing it to move faster.
That’s not random. That’s your internal wiring trying to tell you something about how you’re designed to operate at your best.
Your WHY isn’t some abstract concept you need to uncover. It’s already encoded in the activities that naturally energize you, as opposed to those that leave you feeling empty.
So, maybe the question isn’t, “What’s my life purpose?”
Maybe we should be asking, “What makes me feel most alive every day, and how do I do more of it?”
For me, that means having an opportunity to impact someone’s life by sharing some piece of advice, information, or emotional support. And when I took the MCode assessment, I finally had the right words to articulate my WHY.
If you’re tired of looking for your WHY, you can learn what naturally energizes you in about 20 minutes by taking the MCode assessment for yourself:
What about you? What’s one part of your day that makes you feel most alive, fully engaged, and deeply satisfied?
